History of Profiles International

Profiles International started business with a few assessments licensed from another company, but work began immediately on research and development that has led to the comprehensive suite of occupational assessment products the company offers today.

Although they originally talked about being a two-person sales force and a small operation, cofounders Bud Haney and Jim Sirbasku soon discovered a much larger-than-expected market for assessments and began getting other professionals involved.

In the years since then, hundreds of people have joined the Profiles International business. Profiles International assessments are used throughout the United States and in 122 nations around the globe.

The company's corporate office facilities have expanded from a few hundred feet of rented office space to four modern buildings in Profiles Office Park plus a fifth building nearby, all owned by Profiles International. In the spring of 2005, another Profiles Office Park facility opened, representing a million-dollar expansion.

Founders

Bud Haney and Jim Sirbasku founded Profiles International in March 1991. Haney and Sirbasku began working together in 1970 and were business associates in several successful ventures. In addition, they coauthored the best selling business book, "40 Strategies for Winning in Business."

Sirbasku passed away on February 23, 2010. He provided the Profiles International sales organization with the vision, leadership, and motivation to become a powerful and influential force in employee selection, placement, and training in tens of thousands of businesses around the globe.

Sirbasku was known for his strength as a communicator and motivator. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Sirbasku became an entrepreneur in 1965 and established a successful direct sales business. In the ensuing years, he forged his reputation as an exceptionally talented salesperson, sales manager, and organization builder. In recognition of his achievements, Executives International named Sirbasku to its Academy of Achievement Hall of Fame. The organization also honored him with its prestigious Pinnacle Award.
